What are spirit guides?

As the name implies, a spirit guide is a spirit who has been chosen and assigned to guide and assist you to achieve a higher vibrational state here on earth.  All human beings have been assigned a spirit guide.  How you connect with these guide(s) is entirely up to you.   I have five core guides, and their names are Zippy because he has a Zippy personality, Sebastian, Annachelle, Flying Rain, and Black Bird. They help me with various tasks, and I utilize each of them for different purposes in my work and everyday life. I have learned how to channel their information through automatic writing and the following excerpt is from my Joy guide, Zippy. He explained that spirit guides are perfect so I thought I would share his words.  

Zippy says: “Your greatest teacher is within. We are not saying that knowledge should not be sought out.  We are saying seek knowledge but understand that even though you may not be an expert, your instincts and intuition are what make you the expert. As human beings, you tend to doubt yourselves and tend to doubt your intuition until someone that you “deem” greater than yourself validates that information for you. Learn to validate yourself. It is your greatest achievement “knowing” that which is in you is your greatest strength. There is a lot of information that may overwhelm you and might make you question your instincts. All the information you need has been stored within you.  You have simply blocked it from revealing itself.    

Your quest for your higher self must simply be that – a quest back towards yourself.  Awakening that part of your higher self that you may have shut down is a way to open a portal back into the part of your soul that is connected to pure divinity.  It is not a choice.  It is a right of all light beings to reconnect with this part of themselves that has been unaware of its existence. Stepping into that part of yourself means stepping into your light and this realization that your inner light has been with you all along. So, as you move through your life remember the healthiest relationship begins within you. We love you and we will hold space for you until you find your way back. “
